A new eruption has begun at Mount Semeru, one of Indonesia’s most active volcanoes.
There are currently 16 volcanoes active simultaneously in the country, which is an unprecedented record for the 21st century.
According to the latest global statistics, there are currently 31 active volcanoes worldwide, excluding underwater volcanoes.
