Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov emphasized that the fight against terrorism remains one of the serious and important challenges in the region and the world.
Lavrov told an international media outlet that terrorist activities continue to be observed in Afghanistan and its surrounding areas, especially in the areas between India, Pakistan and Afghanistan.
He added that the Middle East, especially its Asian part, also faces a serious threat of terrorism, and combating this phenomenon is one of the main priorities of Russian foreign policy.
Lavrov’s remarks come as the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has repeatedly stressed that Afghanistan is safe, that its territory is not used against any other country and that there is no terrorist threat from Afghanistan to the countries of the region and the world.
