Saudi Arabia officially entered the global quantum technology competition by installing the first 200-qubit quantum computer manufactured by the French company Pasqal in the Aramco data center.
This system, which works based on neutral atoms technology, is the most powerful quantum computer that Pascal has ever delivered.
According to Saudi officials, the main goal of this quantum computer is advanced energy modeling, discovery of new materials, and solving complex industrial problems in the oil and gas sector and related industries.
With this move, Saudi Arabia, along with the United States, China, Europe, and Canada, has joined the small group of countries that have industrial-scale quantum computers.
