Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Meets with Afghan Border Minister in Kabul; Agreement to renew border signs
Kazem Gharibabadi, Deputy Minister of Legal and International Affairs of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, met with Noorullah Noori, Minister of Borders, Ethnicities and Tribes of the Islamic Emirate, in Kabul and discussed promoting border cooperation between the two countries.
The Iranian embassy in Kabul announced in a press release that the two sides agreed to resume the border marker renovation project, which had been suspended after seven years.
The parties also emphasized taking serious measures to combat the illegal movement of human and drug trafficking across the common borders.
The meeting took place within the framework of bilateral efforts to strengthen border security, facilitate legal trade, and better manage migration.
Officials from both countries considered these talks an important step towards strengthening neighborly relations and operational cooperation.
