In response to Hamas’ positive response to the 20-point Gaza peace plan, US President Donald Trump announced: “Based on the Hamas statement, I believe they are ready for a lasting peace.”
He stressed that Israel must immediately stop the bombing of Gaza so that Israeli prisoners can be safely and quickly released, adding: “The situation is currently very dangerous and we are discussing the details.”
After thanking the mediating countries such as Qatar, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Jordan, Trump described this day as a great day and said that everyone was united to end the war and realize the vision of peace in the Middle East; we are very close to achieving it and everyone will be treated fairly.
He also expressed hope that he would soon see the return of the Zionist prisoners to their homes.
