Delivery of Russian MiG-29 fighters to Iran is a short-term solution until the arrival of advanced Su-35s

The American weekly Newsweek reported that Russia has delivered MiG-29 fighters to the Iranian Air Force.

These deliveries serve as a short-term solution to bolster Iran’s aging air force until advanced Su-35 fighters arrive in Iran’s hands.

In addition, advanced air defense systems such as the Chinese-made 9-HQ and the Russian-made 400 are also being delivered to Iran in significant quantities.

Iranian lawmaker Abul Fadl Zohrevand stated that Russian MiG-29 fighters have arrived in Iran and are stationed in Shiraz, while Su-35s are also on the way, and that when these systems are fully deployed, our enemies will understand the language of power.

Iran is simultaneously focusing on developing indigenous air defense systems such as the Bavar-373 Joza Sayyad Arman and the S-200 Qara to fill defense gaps.

These deliveries could shift the balance of power in the Middle East and strengthen Iran’s hand in diplomatic negotiations.
