Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency sign agreement to resume cooperation

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghai announced the finalization of the understanding between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency.

This agreement was reached following intensive negotiations between the Iranian Foreign Minister and Rafael Grossi, Director General of the Atomic Energy Organization of the United States, in Cairo, and defines how the two sides will interact in the new circumstances following the illegal attacks by the United States and the Zionist regime on Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities.

Grossi also welcomed the agreement, calling it an important step in the right direction and emphasizing that the organization’s inspection activities in Iran will resume.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi stated in a joint press conference with his Egyptian and Greek counterparts that with this agreement, Iran has shown its restraint and responsibility against illegal actions and has provided the possibility of continuing cooperation with the organization.

This understanding was reached at a time when recent tensions in the region had affected Iran’s international cooperation in the nuclear field.
