Ukrainian drone attack on Moscow hits residential building, suspends flights

This morning, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that the country’s air defense systems shot down 19 Ukrainian drones over Moscow.

One of these drones hit a multi-story residential building in the city of Zelenograd, northwest of the capital, causing several cars to catch fire.

Following the attack, the Russian Civil Aviation Organization imposed temporary flight restrictions at Moscow’s international airports, including Vnukovo, Domodedovo, Sheremetyevo, and Zhukovsky.

These restrictions were implemented twice during the night, and some flights were diverted to other airports, including Sheremetyevo.

Nizhny Novgorod, Kaluga, and Yaroslavl airfields were also temporarily closed due to a drone threat.
