General mobilization of Arab tribes in Syria to support Sweida

The Supreme Council of Arab Tribes in Syria issued a statement calling on all tribes in the country’s provinces to move towards Sweida to support Arab-populated areas.

According to Al-Arabiya, following this call, more than 50,000 tribal forces have left for Sweida, and tens of thousands more are expected to arrive in the region soon.

This action was taken in response to recent attacks by Druze groups on Arab villages in Sweida.

According to reports, more than 41 tribes and clans, which constitute more than 70 percent of Syria’s population, are participating in this operation.

Tribes from Iraq, Jordan, and Lebanon have also expressed their readiness to join this movement.

This general mobilization follows yesterday’s attack by elements affiliated with the “Hikmat Al-Hijri” group of Druze sheikhs on Arab villages, which resulted in the deaths of 100 people and the displacement of thousands.

Tensions in Sweida continue, and these developments could have far-reaching consequences for the security situation in the region.
