Intel’s new CEO, Lip-Bo-Ten, recently announced that the company is lagging behind Nvidia in the production of artificial intelligence chips and has dropped out of the list of the world’s top 10 chipmakers.
In a speech to Intel employees this week, he said the company had come a long way from its former position as the world’s chip industry leader.
“Twenty or thirty years ago, we were really at the forefront of this industry, but now the world has changed and we are no longer in the top 10 semiconductor manufacturing companies,” Tan added to the employees.
Intel’s CEO has spoken to employees several times since taking office, but has not yet spoken to the media about the company’s sitation.
