Afghanistan and Iran emphasize expanding relations Commercial and transit
Maulana Islam Jar, the governor of Herat, met with a delegation from Iran led by Mohammad Mohsen Zangineh, a member of the Iranian parliament, and discussed expanding economic relations, increasing trade exchanges, and facilitating transit between the two countries.
According to a press release from the Herat provincial government, the meeting was held in the presence of Mohammad Hafez Mujahid, Governor of Farah, and Abdul Manan Mahmoud, Governor of Nimroz; the two sides emphasized strengthening economic and trade cooperation and making greater use of the border capacities of the western provinces of the country.
The Governor of Herat said in this meeting that the Islamic Emirate has made progress in the economic, industrial and commercial sectors and that major infrastructure projects are underway in the country; he also mentioned the achievements in the fight against drug cultivation and trafficking.
Islam Jarr has asked the Iranian delegation to pay more attention to expanding trade and transit through the ports of Islam Qala, Abu Nasr Farahi, and the Nimroz border; according to him, these ports are ready for round-the-clock operation.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Mohsen Zanganeh appreciated the hospitality of the Afghan people and emphasized the expansion of trade and transit relations and the increase in the transfer of goods through the border routes of Herat, Farah, and Nimroz.
