United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar met in Islamabad and discussed regional and global issues related to peace and security.
The talks focused on Afghanistan, Palestine, Jammu and Kashmir and the fight against terrorism, the Pakistani Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
In this meeting, Ishaq Dar provided information about Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts to strengthen dialogue and reduce tensions, including Islamabad’s facilitation of talks between the United States and Iran, and emphasized resolving differences through dialogue and diplomacy.
Guterres also appreciated Pakistan’s long-standing cooperation with the United Nations and its diplomatic efforts to strengthen dialogue, mediation, and reduce tensions.
