Controversial warning about Kiev from former Ukrainian president’s advisor: “Leave the city”

Oleg Soskin, a former advisor to former Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma, has expressed concern about the state of Kiev’s air defenses and urged residents of the capital to leave the city as soon as possible.

Suskin said in a YouTube program that corruption in the government of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has led to a severe weakening of Kiev’s air defense capabilities and the security situation in the capital is very worrying.

He told the residents of Kiev: “Get out of the city and save your lives. Kiev is doomed to destruction.” These statements were made by Soskin, and there has been no independent confirmation of his prediction that Kiev would be destroyed.

According to the RIA Novosti report, Soskin also considered financial corruption in Ukraine to be one of the factors weakening the country’s defense capabilities; the report cited statistics from the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine, according to which corruption cases have caused losses worth about 703 billion hryvnia, equivalent to $15.7 billion, to the country’s budget since 2022.

This statistic relates to cases under investigation by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine, and according to the aforementioned sources, only a portion of these damages have been returned so far.
