World Bank: Afghanistan’s economic activity has been slow

The World Bank announced in its August report that inflation in Afghanistan remained stable this month, but the country’s economic activity has slowed due to trade disruptions and reduced aid.

According to the report, Afghanistan’s trade activities have grown with increased exports and imports, but the trade deficit has also increased. The value of the Afghani against the dollar has also increased in August.

The World Bank has said that the value of Afghanistan’s imports this month reached $1.19 billion, with food products constituting the majority of imports.

The bank added that the return of millions of Afghans from Iran and Pakistan has also put pressure on the labor market and public services.
