Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov says Russia wants lasting peace in Ukraine, not a temporary ceasefire. He has called Kiev’s statements about continuing the war and being ready for a ceasefire contradictory.
Peskov has claimed that the situation in Ukraine is deteriorating in the economic and military sectors and that Kiev must make concrete decisions to move towards lasting peace.
He has also called for the lifting of Western sanctions against Russia and said that transporting grain via the Black Sea route has become more difficult due to Ukraine’s actions.
The Kremlin spokesman called the refusal to issue a visa to the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister to attend the UN General Assembly an unfriendly move and said that the issue would be raised in contacts between Russia and the United States.
