A news helicopter from the NBC Los Angeles network crashed while covering a fatal accident in Los Angeles, killing three people and injuring another.
The helicopter crashed Tuesday evening at around 6:57 p.m. local time in the Chatsworth area of the San Fernando Valley.
The Los Angeles Fire Department said the helicopter crashed in the area between two commercial buildings and was found on fire after firefighters arrived.
At the time of the incident, the helicopter was covering a collision between an SUV and a bus near the crash site, an incident in which two people were killed and several others were injured.
The cause of the crash is still unknown, and the US National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) are set to launch an investigation into the incident, and the identities of the victims have not yet been announced.
