Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, the speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran, wrote on the social network X, “Before the negotiations, I emphasized that we have the necessary goodwill and will, but due to the experiences of the previous two wars, we do not trust the other side.”
He added: “My colleagues in the Iranian delegation proposed forward-looking initiatives, but the other side ultimately failed to gain the trust of the Iranian delegation in this round of negotiations.”
Qalibaf emphasized that America understood our logic and principles, and now it is time to decide whether it can earn our trust or not.
The Speaker of the Iranian Parliament wrote: “We certainly consider diplomacy of authority to be another method, alongside the military struggle, to achieve the rights of the Iranian people, and we will not stop for a moment from trying to consolidate the achievements of the forty days of Iranian national defense.”
He also appreciated the efforts of neighboring Pakistan to facilitate the negotiation process and sent his greetings to the nation.
In the end, Qalibaf thanked the entire heroic Iranian nation who supported their children on the advice of the Supreme Leader and by being present in the streets, and wished his colleagues well during these intensive 21-hour negotiations.
