In his recent statements, US President Donald Trump said that he is not satisfied with Iran but is looking forward to further talks with the country, and emphasized that Iran cannot have nuclear weapons.
He added that there may or may not be a change of government in Iran; I have not yet made a final decision about Iran.
Trump claimed that Iran is not willing to say, “We don’t want nuclear weapons, and if they are smart, they will agree.” He also said, “I want to make a deal with Iran, but sometimes you have to use the military option.”
In response to reporters’ questions about an immediate overthrow in Iran, he said: “No one has told me that if we use the army now, a change of government will happen immediately; it may or may not happen.”
Trump went on to claim that it would be great if Iran negotiated in good faith and with conscience, but they haven’t reached that point yet.
Some American journalists say that Trump meant by “today’s talks with Iran” the meeting between US Vice President Jeddah Vance and the Omani Foreign Minister in Washington.
