5 countries reject Trump’s call to open the Strait of Hormuz

Surveys show that so far, five countries have rejected Donald Trump’s request to participate in measures to open the Strait of Hormuz and form a coalition against Iran.

In response to Trump’s proposal, China and France emphasized diplomatic resolution of disputes and refrained from any military action.

Britain and Japan explicitly rejected the US request, while South Korea announced that the proposal was under consideration and required internal consultations.

Germany and Italy also officially announced yesterday that they do not intend to join Trump’s proposed coalition.

Military analysts say many of America’s allies oppose the current administration’s approach toward Iran because the war has begun without their consent.

In addition to political considerations, there is also a practical challenge: sending warships to the region requires a long time and prior planning, and there is no possibility of instantaneous response.
