Local and health sources in Bahrain reported that one of the missiles from the US Patriot defense system suffered a technical failure and fell in a residential area while being activated to counter missile and drone attacks.
The incident, which occurred on Sunday night after American bases in the region were targeted, especially the Issa Air Base in southern Bahrain, resulted in the injury of several civilian residents.
Initial images and reports show damage to homes and panic among locals. Bahraini authorities have not yet released exact details on the number of injured or the extent of the damage.
