Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, in a sharp and direct statement addressed to some Arab monarchies, said: “Many of you publicly stated that the situation should not lead to a military solution and that you would not allow the use of your airspace, but when everything started, did you condemn the actions of the United States and Israel? Did you condemn the bombing of 170 schoolgirls?”
Lavrov added: “I have heard that some of your countries, even Bahrain, are planning to submit a resolution to the Security Council that will only condemn Iran without saying a word about the actions of the United States and Israel.”
“We call for a united front to end this war. If you simply say that Iran does not have the right to an effective response, meaning you are encouraging the United States and Israel to continue their crimes, this is not consistent with any logic,” he stressed.
These remarks come at a time when tensions in the region have reached a peak and some Arab countries have adopted an ambivalent stance towards the US and Israeli attacks on Iran
