In response to the sinking of the “Dena” frigate in international waters, Seyyed Abbas Araqchi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, held the United States directly responsible for the incident.
In his message, he announced that America had caused another disaster, this time at sea, 2,000 miles from the coast of Iran. The frigate “Dena”, a guest of the Indian Navy and carrying approximately 130 crew members, was targeted in international waters without any prior warning.
Araqchi emphasized: “You will see that the United States will deeply regret the precedent it has created.”
The incident occurred while the Dena frigate was on a joint training mission with the Indian Navy and had not received any prior threat or warning.
