In response to Donald Trump’s anti-Iranian statements in the US Congress, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baghai called his claims “big lies” and a repetition of Goebbels’ rule.
“Professional liars have a special expertise in creating false truths. Repeat a lie until it appears to be true. This is a rule that was invented by Joseph Goebbels and is now being used by the US government and its warmongers, especially the genocidal Israeli regime, to advance the evil campaign of spreading false information against the Iranian nation,” Baqaei wrote on the social network X.
He emphasized that what is being claimed about Iran’s nuclear program, intercontinental ballistic missiles, and the death toll from the January unrest is nothing more than a series of big lies, and no one should be deceived by such claims.
This reaction came as Trump claimed in his speech that Iran had “amputated thousands of Americans,” “killed more than 32,000 protesters in protests,” is building intercontinental missiles, and is seeking to revive its nuclear weapons program, claims that Tehran has repeatedly denied.
