Trump signs executive order imposing 25% tariffs on Iran’s trading partners

Despite a new round of indirect nuclear talks between Tehran and Washington in Muscat, US President Donald Trump signed a new executive order imposing a 25% tariff on imports of goods from countries that trade with Iran.

This action is in line with the Trump administration’s “maximum pressure” policy and dual approach towards Iran. As diplomatic talks continue, economic pressure on Iran’s trading partners has increased to force Tehran to accept America’s conditions.

The aforementioned executive order came into effect on Friday and includes goods imported from countries that have significant trade relations with Iran. This decision could seriously affect Iran’s economic relations with its neighbors China, India, Turkey, and some European countries.
