Afghanistan sends 20 kilograms of raw gold worth $2.9 million to Uzbekistan for processing

Afghanistan has sent 20 kilograms of raw gold worth about $2.9 million to the Sarkhan Darya region of Uzbekistan for processing, Kazakh media reported.

The Tarmoz Gold Production Company in Uzbekistan has started processing the shipment of gold imported from Afghanistan. The company is one of the most important centers for processing precious metals in the Sarkhan Darya region.

According to Kazakh media reports, the joint project is expected to not only increase the industrial capacity of the Sarkhan Darya region, but also contribute to the development of the jewelry industry and precious metals processing in Uzbekistan and strengthen economic relations with Afghanistan.

This move comes within the framework of the two countries’ efforts to expand economic and trade cooperation following recent political changes in Afghanistan and could pave the way for more joint projects in the field of mining and related industries.
