The Minister of Higher Education’s three-day visit to Oman ended with scientific and diplomatic achievements

The three-day official visit of Sheikh Nidaa Mohammad Nadeem, Minister of Higher Education of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, to the Sultanate of Oman ended with significant results in the scientific, educational, and diplomatic fields.

Hafez Ziaullah Hashemi, spokesman for the Ministry of Higher Education, announced in a press release that Minister Nadeem met with senior officials of the Omani Ministry of Higher Education and visited a number of prestigious universities in the country during this trip.

In a meeting with officials from the Ministry of Higher Education of Oman, the two sides discussed signing academic memorandums of understanding, expanding bilateral cooperation, exchanging professors and students, and strengthening educational relations between Afghanistan and Oman.

Sheikh Nidaa Muhammad Nadeem also discussed and exchanged views in separate meetings with the deans and officials of Omani universities on developing scientific cooperation, exchanging educational and research experiences, launching joint educational programs, and strengthening academic ties.

During these visits, he also visited laboratories, libraries, and classrooms at universities.

In another part of the program, the Afghan Minister of Higher Education met and talked with Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamad al-Khalili, the Grand Mufti of the Sultanate of Oman.

At the end of the visit, Sheikh Nidaa Muhammad Nadeem met with a number of Afghans living in Oman, listened closely to their problems and demands, and assured them that the Ministry of Higher Education would cooperate to the best of its ability to resolve issues related to Afghan students and graduates in Oman.

This trip is considered an important step towards strengthening educational and scientific relations between the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and the Sultanate of Oman, and is expected to pave the way for the signing of official cooperation documents in the near future.
