Renee Goude becomes a symbol of immigrant oppression, nationwide protests continue in America

Four days after the murder of “Rene Goode,” an immigrant woman, by the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), nationwide protests continue in various cities across the country, and her name has become a symbol of the oppression of immigrants and institutionalized violence against them.

American media reported that thousands of people took to the streets in a massive demonstration in Minneapolis to protest the woman’s murder. Police arrested at least 20 protesters during the peaceful rally.

In Philadelphia, protesters also gathered in front of government centers to demand the complete removal of immigration police forces from the city and the judicial accountability of the soldiers involved in the incident. Slogans of “Justice for Renegade” and “End violence against immigrants” were heard throughout the protest routes.

The protests have spread from the East Coast to the West Coast of the United States, including the cities of Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, and Houston, and have become one of the largest waves of protests against the US government’s immigration policies in recent years.
