Amir Saeed Iravani, Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations, emphasized in an official letter to the UN Security Council that the United States is directly responsible for turning economic protests into unrest and violent actions in Iran.
According to the Iranian Broadcasting Agency, Irvani wrote in the letter that he strongly condemns the illegal behavior of the United States and its coordination with the Zionist regime to interfere in Iran’s internal affairs.
He added: “This interference is carried out through threats, incitement, and deliberate encouragement of violence and disruption of peace and stability.”
The Iranian ambassador emphasized, “We strongly condemn this destabilizing action, which is completely contrary to the United Nations Charter and the principles of international law.”
The letter was sent as economic protests in various cities in Iran entered their second and third weeks, accompanied by the spread of political slogans and reports of clashes. Iranian officials have repeatedly warned that foreign factors are playing a role in escalating the unrest.
