UN-Habitat warns poor waste management in Afghan cities poses serious threat to citizens’ health

United Nations Office for Human Settlements (UN)Habitat in Afghanistan has stated that waste management has become a major challenge in the country, especially in densely populated cities and informal urban areas.

According to this office, the lack of an effective waste collection and management system has serious consequences for the health of citizens, and continued neglect of this sector can create further health risks.

The United Nations Office for Human Settlements (UNHCR) has emphasized that efforts in waste management and environmental protection must be seriously increased to ensure healthy cities and sustainable communities.

This warning comes at a time when cities like Kabul are facing severe pollution problems caused by accumulated waste.
