Deputy Foreign Minister meets with Chinese Ambassador in Kabul, emphasizes continued cooperation after attack on Chinese nationals
Dr. Mohammad Naeem, Deputy Minister of Finance and Administration of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, met with Mr. Jao Sheng, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China in Kabul on Wednesday (12th of August 2014).
The main focus of the meeting was the recent incident on the Afghan-Tajik border, during which several Chinese nationals were killed.
In this meeting, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate expressed Kabul’s deep regret and emphasized that extensive investigations are underway in this regard.
He called the attack the work of “enemies” who seek to create distrust between countries.
The Chinese ambassador appreciated the seriousness and rapid actions of the Islamic Emirate in pursuing this case and stated that the perpetrators of this incident intend to disrupt the friendly relations between Beijing and Kabul.
In the end, the two sides emphasized the continuation of sustainable cooperation and the further expansion of good relations between Afghanistan and China.
