The Minister of Agriculture of the country in Moscow invites regional countries to invest in the health and breeding of Afghan livestock

Afghanistan’s Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock, Maulvi Ataullah Omari, who is in Moscow to attend the International Conference on Animal Health, has called on countries in the region and the world to invest in livestock breeding, fighting animal diseases and developing the value chain of animal products in Afghanistan.

In his speech at the conference, he emphasized: “Afghanistan is a country entirely based on agriculture and livestock, and more than 70 percent of the people earn their living through agriculture and livestock, but in recent years, the outbreak of infectious livestock diseases such as plague of small ruminants, foot-and-mouth disease, and cholera has caused heavy losses to livestock farmers and the country’s economy.”

Referring to the huge potential of cheap labor pastures and the large regional market, Molavi Omari assured that the Islamic Emirate, through the Ministry of Agriculture and other relevant institutions, will provide all necessary facilities, including investment security, customs exemptions, and access to land, for foreign and domestic investors.
