The success of TAPI-CASA 1000 and major energy projects depends on the Islamic Emirate cutting off its support for militant groups
Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry said on Friday that the successful implementation of multibillion-dollar energy and regional connectivity projects, including the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India TAPI gas pipeline and the CASA-1000 power project, depends on Islamabad’s resolution of security concerns by the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.
Tahir Andrabi, spokesman for the ministry, told a news conference that the success of all these projects depends on the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan stopping its support for terrorist groups operating on Afghan soil.
Responding to a question about the recent visit of the country’s Minister of Industry and Commerce to India, he called the event “an interaction between two independent countries” and added that Pakistan remains committed to regional trade connectivity and improving trade relations.
Pakistani officials have repeatedly claimed that attacks in Pakistan are planned from Afghanistan, a claim the Islamic Emirate has denied and called on Pakistan to take responsibility for its own security.
