Toronto cemetery thefts surge, with over 300 cases reported in past few months

Toronto police in Canada announced that more than 300 thefts have been recorded from various tombs and cemeteries in the city in recent months.

According to police, thieves, by impersonating and introducing themselves as family members of the deceased, managed to steal approximately 6,600 valuable items, including jewelry, family mementos, and precious vases.

Despite the scale of these thefts, only two people have been arrested in connection with these cases so far.

The robberies have caused not only material damage but severe emotional damage to grieving families, Toronto police said.
