Mohammed bin Salman’s trip to Washington to meet Trump focuses on oil, security and nuclear energy

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman left for the United States on Monday to meet with US President Donald Trump at the White House on Tuesday (November 18, 2025).

Reuters reported that the main goal of the trip is to expand and deepen bilateral cooperation in the fields of oil, security, trade, technology and nuclear energy.

The two leaders are expected to discuss defense agreements, including the sale of F-35 fighter jets to Saudi Arabia, as well as a bilateral security pact, with artificial intelligence and nuclear energy also high on the agenda.

This trip comes after Trump visited Riyadh last May and announced Saudi Arabia’s $600 billion investment in the United States.

Despite human rights criticism from some American figures, relations between the two countries have been described as stronger than ever, based on shared oil and security interests.
