Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro signed the “Comprehensive Leadership for the Defense of the Homeland” law and ordered the mobilization of military forces, security institutions, and the entire population to defend the country from the early hours of the morning.
Based on this law, the “National Defense Coordination Headquarters” will be activated immediately to ensure border security, territorial integrity, and peace of the nation.
Maduro emphasized that this measure involves combining the official armed forces with the broad participation of the people so that all capacities are ready to confront possible threats.
The order comes amid rising tensions with neighboring countries and international pressure on the Caracas government, which Maduro has described as a “sacred defense of the ‘homeland’.”
