First shipment of Iranian humanitarian aid arrives for earthquake victims in Samangan
48 hours after the powerful 6.3-magnitude earthquake, the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Mazar-e-Sharif announced the sending of the country’s first aid shipment to the earthquake victims in Samangan Province.
Hamid Reza Ahmadi, Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Mazar-e Sharif, visited the affected families and expressed his condolences during a short trip to the earthquake-stricken areas of Samangan.
Speaking to reporters, he stated that during this trip, two humanitarian aid shipments, including a number of tents and 26 items of medicine, were delivered to Kholm district in the presence of the accompanying delegation and local officials of Samangan province.
Mr. Ahmadi, while expressing sympathy with the people of Afghanistan, assured of continued cooperation and sending more aid.
