US sends draft resolution to Security Council for 2-year international force rule over Gaza

The United States has sent a draft resolution to some members of the United Nations Security Council calling for the establishment of an International Security Force (ISF) in the Gaza Strip with a mission of at least two years until the end of 2027.

The force is scheduled to be deployed by January 2026 and will have broad powers to provide security, protect civilians and humanitarian aid ports.

According to the draft, this force will act as an enforcement force, not just a peacemaker, and will be responsible for securing Gaza’s borders with Israel and Egypt, as well as the complete demilitarization of Gaza.

Donald Trump will also head a peace commission that will be active until the end of 2027 and will have broad authority to set priorities for Gaza’s reconstruction and secure its funding.
