UN relief teams dispatched to earthquake-hit areas in the north of the country
The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) announced that its assistance teams have been dispatched to earthquake-hit areas in the north of the country to assess needs and provide immediate assistance.
The organization wrote on its official page on X Network: “We stand with the affected communities and will provide the necessary support.”
This action follows the 6.3-magnitude earthquake in Samangan province last night, which has so far left more than 20 dead, 320 injured, and caused extensive damage to infrastructure, homes, and historical sites.
