Historical sites in Balkh and Samangan suffered minor damage in last night’s earthquake

The Ministry of Information and Culture expressed its condolences to the families of the victims of last night’s earthquake in the northern provinces.

The ministry announced in a statement that following the severe earthquake, historical monuments, including the Holy Shrine in Balkh and the Jahan Nama Garden in Samangan, suffered minor damage.

The statement emphasized that the ministry’s technical teams will soon be dispatched to the site to accurately assess the damage and begin reconstruction operations.

It is worth noting that the protection of cultural heritage in earthquake-hit areas is a priority for this ministry
