Afghanistan, Pakistan peace talks likely to resume in Turkey

The media quoted informed sources as saying that there is a possibility of resuming talks between Afghanistan and Pakistan in Turkey.

According to these reports, Türkiye has asked the Afghan delegation to remain in the country so that the talks can continue.

This news comes as the second round of border talks between officials from the two countries in Istanbul, mediated by Turkey and Qatar, ended without reaching a final agreement.

Afghan and Pakistani sources told Reuters that differences over control of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) have hampered progress.

However, the temporary ceasefire resulting from the first round of talks in Doha (October 19, 2025) remains in place, and both sides accuse each other of failing the talks.
