20 killed in fire after motorcycle collides with bus in southern India
A violent collision between a motorcycle and a private bus on the route between the technology cities of Bangalore and Hyderabad in southern India led to a fuel leak and a massive fire, killing at least 20 people.
The incident, which took place on the morning of Friday, October 24, 2025, in China Tekuru village, Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh, turned a bus with 41 passengers into a living hell.
According to reports from local authorities and Reuters, 11 bodies have been identified so far and rescue efforts are ongoing.
At least 21 of the 41 bus passengers have been rescued and their condition is being monitored.
The bus belonged to the company Kaveri Travels and was travelling from Hyderabad to Bangalore, and the motorcycle driver was among the dead.
Reuters reported, citing Indian officials, that about 180,000 people died in road accidents across India last year alone.
