Afghanistan, Pakistan agree to immediate ceasefire mediated by Qatar

The Qatari Foreign Ministry announced on Sunday morning that after several rounds of talks in Doha, the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and Pakistan have reached an agreement on an immediate ceasefire.

This agreement was reached through the mediation of Qatar and Türkiye, and its goal is to reduce border tensions and establish lasting peace in the region.

According to the announcement by the Qatari Foreign Ministry, the two countries will establish mechanisms to ensure the sustainability of the ceasefire, and follow-up meetings will be held in the coming days to continue and monitor its implementation.

Pakistani Defense Minister Khawaja Asif announced that the next meeting to discuss the implementation of the Scorpion Day agreement will be held in Istanbul.

Qatar has expressed hope that the agreement will be an important step towards regional stability, while recent border tensions, including Pakistani airstrikes on Paktika, have caused widespread concern.
