International Criminal Court will not overturn arrest warrants for Netanyahu and Gallant
The International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague has rejected the Israeli regime’s appeal to overturn the arrest warrants for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Minister of War Yoav Gallant.
In a 13-page ruling, the ICC judges stated that the issue raised by Israel is not subject to appeal and that the rulings issued remain valid.
The sentences were issued in November 2024 and are based on “reasonable evidence” that Netanyahu and Gallant are responsible for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza, including the use of starvation as a method of warfare and the targeting of civilians.
Israel, which rejects the ICC’s jurisdiction, is separately pursuing its own legal challenges to the court’s jurisdiction, but the rejection of the request has heightened tensions and prompted strong reactions from Israel and the United States, which has imposed sanctions on ICC officials.
