Pashtun movement leader accuses Pakistani army of war crimes

Manzoor Pashteen, a prominent leader of the Pashtun Protection Movement (PTM), reacted to yesterday’s Pakistani army attack on the country’s capital, calling the action a “war crime” and emphasizing that targeting innocent people is a clear violation of international law.

In a statement released today, Thursday, May 14, Pashteen stated: “Pakistan has committed a war crime by bombing Kabul and endangering the lives of innocent civilians.”

“The Pakistani army always hides its failures on the battlefield by targeting civilians,” he added.

The remarks come as Pashtun expressed deep concern over the killing of seven Afghan workers by Pakistani soldiers in Bahramche district of Helmand province on the other side of the hypothetical line.

He emphasized that these people had nothing to do with the war and were innocent victims of border violations.

The Pashtun Protection Movement, led by Pashteen, has repeatedly accused the Pakistani army of human rights violations and repression of the Pashtun minority
