Qatar finalizes Gaza ceasefire agreement; war stops, prisoner exchange begins
The spokesman for the Qatari Foreign Ministry announced that mediators have reached an agreement on implementing the first phase of the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
Majid Al-Ansari announced that this agreement will lead to an end to the war, the release of Israeli hostages and Palestinian prisoners, and the widespread arrival of humanitarian aid.
This news comes after the Saudi Al-Hadath channel previously reported that a ceasefire agreement between Hamas and the Israeli regime would be signed today at 12:00 noon Cairo time.
Qatari, Egyptian and US mediators will release details in the coming hours.
US President Donald Trump described the agreement as “EPIC” in a post on his social media, emphasizing that all hostages would soon be released and Israeli forces would withdraw to the agreed lines.
The agreement, following intensive negotiations in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, is considered a turning point in the 15-month Gaza crisis
