The Israeli Foreign Ministry announced that all vessels of the Global Sumud Flotilla carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza have been seized and all persons on board have been arrested.
The flotilla, which included more than 40 vessels and about 450 international activists, including Greta Thunberg, was intercepted in international waters.
According to the Israeli Foreign Ministry, only “one last vessel” remains in the distance, and if it approaches, it will be prevented from attempting to enter the active war zone and breach the Gaza blockade.
Ministry spokespeople emphasized that all detainees are “healthy and in good condition” and that after being transferred to the port of Ashdod, the process of deporting them to Europe will begin.
These individuals will first be transferred to the Ketziyot prison in the Negev desert and, if they refuse to be deported, will be tried by a special court of the Israeli Ministry of Interior.
