China’s largest bookstore opens in Shenzhen, with 300,000 volumes spread over 131,000 square meters
The country’s largest bookstore opened in Shenzhen, China.
Known as the “Eye of the Bay Area” and part of the Shenzhen Book City complex, the bookstore has a rich collection of more than 300,000 volumes in nearly 100,000 subject categories including art and design, humanities, family and parenting.
The building is built on an area of 131,000 square meters and was designed by a leading international artistic team.
Another outstanding feature is its lush rooftop garden with over 20,000 square meters of green space, which is open 24 hours a day and allows visitors to enjoy nature and study.
Serving as a cultural symbol of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area, the bookstore is not only a place to buy books, but also a space for cultural and educational exchange, and is expected to attract tourists and book enthusiasts from all over the world.
