Ukrainian drone attack on Russian petrochemical plant, fire at Gazprom Neftekhim Salvat plant
According to Russian media reports, the Gazprom Neftekhim Selvat company in the Republic of Bashkortostan, one of the country’s largest petrochemical complexes, has been attacked by Ukrainian drones for the second time in less than a week.
The President of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, announced on his Telegram channel that two Ukrainian fixed-wing drones had attacked the factory and caused a fire.
Factory security forces have responded to the drones’ fire and emergency services are working to put out the fire, but details of the damage and casualties are not yet known.
The plant, located more than 1,500 kilometers from the Ukrainian border, produces gasoline, diesel, polyethylene, and other petrochemical products and has a refining capacity of 10 million tons of oil per year.
A Ukrainian source in the SBU security department confirmed that the attacks were carried out to disrupt the flow of Russian oil revenues.
The Russian Defense Ministry did not mention this attack in its list of downed drones.
