Axios: New US-Qatar security pact imminent

According to Axios, Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani has traveled to Washington to meet with senior American officials and discuss developments in Gaza and the Israeli regime’s attack on Doha.

The main purpose of the trip is said to be the signing of a new security treaty between Washington and Doha after Israel’s attack on Qatar, which has increased tensions in regional relations.

According to the report, US President Donald Trump ordered Secretary of State Marco Rubio to finalize the US-Qatar defense agreement after Israel’s attack on Doha on September 9, 2025, which killed five members of the Hamas Islamic Resistance Movement and a Qatari security force.

The Qatari prime minister called the action “state terrorism” and a violation of Qatar’s sovereignty, but stressed that Doha would continue its mediation role in the Gaza war
