Muammar al-Iryani, the Minister of Information of the legitimate Yemeni government, accused the Ansar Allah Houthi movement of trying to manufacture chemical weapons in areas under its control in northern Yemen, under the guidance and supervision of Iranian experts.
This accusation comes at a time when Al-Aryani had previously called the Houthis a front base for the Islamic Republic of Iran and considered Tehran’s support for this group to be an obstacle to the peace process in Yemen.
So far, no independent evidence has been provided to support this claim, and neither the Houthis nor Iranian officials have officially responded to this accusation.
This claim follows repeated reports from the Yemeni government and its allies about Iran’s military support for the Houthis, including the seizure of arms shipments.
